Bruce McMenamin, Principal

Bruce commenced his career in the Chartered Accountancy profession in 1971 where he spent two years gaining experience before embarking on a three-year term working in the building and construction industry. Bruce returned to the profession around 1976 and commenced his own practice working with a boutique firm in Armadale in 1981.

In 1987, he merged his practice with a mid-size second tier, Evans Partners, who in turn consolidated some ten years later with what was then known as Horwath (Vic) Pty Ltd.

In 2001, Bruce commenced the Horwath Corporate Advisory (HCA) and, as it is known today as BDO Kendalls, division in Melbourne which he subsequently grew to one of the leading Corporate Advisory groups, targeting the middle-market investment sector. At the time of his departure, HCA had grown to a very successful service group of approximately 18 people.

Bruce left HCA in 2007 to work with one of his long standing clients. He has since returned to the profession in 2009 by joining MGI Melbourne. He is currently working in the development of the Accounting and Corporate Advisory disciplines.

In his role as leader of HCA, Bruce, over a period of many years, has advised and assisted companies in their IPO’s, mergers, acquisitions and divestments. Bruce has a strong relationship with a broad range of clients and business associates. His networks include members of the accounting, legal and banking professions, investment bankers and venture capital providers and other influential business people in Melbourne and other major cities around Australia. On returning to the profession Bruce selected MGI Melbourne for several reasons. Bruce has a long standing association with MGI dating back to his time as a Partner of Evans Partners, a former member of the MGI association.
